The cylinder drum is used for an hydraulic axial piston machine. The inertia of cylinder drum is reduced without adversely affecting is strength. The cylinder drum is made from light alloy and the actuating end face of the drum has a hot pressed sintered bronze layer. The cylinder drum outside circumference is covered near the actuating end with high strength material. Bushes (2) made of nitrided steel are inserted into the cylinder holes.
