The furnace chamber contains >=1 heat transfer device, made of >=1 heat-resisting material located in the path of the burner flame, so that the device is heated via convection from the high temp. flame travelling at high speed through the furnace; and the device transfers heat to the workpieces by radiation. Devices are pref. located in the preheating zones at the inlet of the furnace, and consist of materials with low thermal capacity, a large heat transfer surface, and high radiation. Devices are esp. double coils of wire, or thin walled tubes slit longitudinally, or several layers of wire mesh arranged in V-shapes, in all cases acting as baffles collecting heat from the burner flames. Heat normally leaving the furnace by the exhaust gas chimney is collected by the baffles to increase the speed of heating the workpieces and to reduce oil consumption.
|
