The meter has a digital display and is intended for covered car parks. A reversible counter (11) is provided in the meter case. It is connected to a pulse generator (12) set by a coin pick-up (14), and to a car detector, such as a light barrier, or induction loop. It has a digital display (17) showing the parking time. A clock transfers timing pulses directly to the reversible counter (11). A switching panel controlled by the clock sends instructions to the pulse generator (12).
