PURPOSE:To assure the proper function of a thermal control valve, by providing a vortical bimetal whose one end is fixed on a stem of the valve and whose other end can be engaged and disengaged with a stopper. CONSTITUTION:The free end of the vortical bimetal 22 can be engaged and disengaged with a stopper 26. Notches 28 are provided on the bimetal 22 at a predetermined distance from its free end 27. A member 29 is calked on the bimetal 22 at the notches 28. Even if the thermal control valve 13 is open, the ambient temperature around the vortical bimetal 22 rises and the bimetal continues to expand. Because the free end 27 is disengaged with the stopper 26, the vortical bimetal 22 expands without suffering stress. |
