<p>The circuit breaker has a light are stricken between two annular electrodes during switching-off. The light arc is rotated by a magnetic field of two coaxially mounted coils, through which flows the switching-off current. The circuit breaker gas, preferably sulphur hexafluoride, is compressed in a unit consisting of a piston and a cylinder, the generated gas stream being used for additional transverse blowing of the light arc burning in parallel to the circuit breaker axis. Between the two current loaded coils is mounted a light arc chamber, current flowing through the coils in opposite directions.</p> |
