The equipment is particularly for generating artificial fog, and comprises a stack of discs of resilient natural or artificial material, each disc having a central slot whose lips are normally shut, and which open when distorted under pressure. Between adjacent discs others of anti-friction material are preferably fitted. The stack is mounted at the outlet of a feed pipe or nozzle. Slots in adjacent discs can be at 45 deg. to each other.
