<p>An open top and bottom chamber (2) is mounted on rollers (5). One side (2a) being hinged to open as a door. The chamber is located beneath a hopper (6) and a sack of flexible material is inserted, its filling neck being connected to hopper outlet (7). The bottom of the sack rests on a pallet. The hopper outlet is opened and the sack fills by gravity. The filling neck is sealed by welding, whilst the chamber is at the filling station. Valve (1a) is connected to a vacuum pump to remove air from the sack and compact the contents. The chamber is rolled clear of the filling station for removal of the filled, sealed, sack.</p> |
