PURPOSE:To make time and calendar display easy to see by making combined driving of respectively specified numbers of transparent electrodes sandwiching a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:A scale indicating the hour, minute and second, a day scale, etc. are provided to the circumference, etc. With the liquid crystal layer formed within this circumference in-between, 12 pieces concentrically on the lower side and total 24 pieces of block transparent electrodes and line transparent electrodes or the like, e.g., 5 pieces whereof are simultaneously driven, are provided. When these electrodes are subjected to combined driving, the time display is analogically accomplished in an easy-to-see manner by the hour, minute, second displays 15 thru 17 and the calendar display by the month, data, day displays 11 thru 13 through changing over of driving pulses. When the indication positions overlap, they are identified by the changes in tone, etc., whereby the display of AM and PM at the time displaying and the display of the discriminating characters of calendar display are also accomplished. |
