摘要 PURPOSE:To arrange a plurality of light emitting units in a straight line in the lateral direction of a photoreceptor, and to effectively erase the unnecesssary end parts of lateral direction of the photoreceptor by continuous lighting of the corresponding terminal light emitting units and the residual unnecessary areas among images by lighting of the light emitting units excluding the terminal ones. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of light emitting units 101-108 are arranged linearly in the lateral direction of photoreceptor 1 in light emitting device 10, and light emitting of each unit is controllable by each of switches S1-S8 independently of each other. The length of deice 10 corresponds to width W0 of photoreceptor, width W1 of unnecessary end part 7 to unit 101 length, unnecessary end part 8 to 2 units 107 and 108 lengths, and accordingly width W of necessary image part 20 to the total length of units 102-106. Terminal units 101, 107 and 108 are continuously lighted till completion of copying to erase parts 7 and 8. The residual intermediate units 102-106 are lighted till unnecessary areas 9 and 9' among images have passed just under them, and unlighted during necessary images 20 and 21 are passing to erase unnecessary areas 9 and 9'.
