PURPOSE:To provide a nonwoven fabric having excellent heat-resistance and chemical resistance, containing a styrene polymer having syndiotactic structure as a main component and having a specific difference between the absolute values of the fusion enthalpy and low-temperature crystallization enthalpy of the polymer after forming. CONSTITUTION:The objective nonwoven fabric is produced by mixing (A) 100 pts.wt. of a styrene polymer having syndiotactic structure [e.g., poly(alkylstyrene)] optionally with (B) 0.01-10 pts.wt. of a crystallization-promoting nucleation agent (preferably sodium beta-naphthoate, etc., and (C) an antioxidant, etc., melt-spinning the mixture and forming e.g., by spun-bond process. The difference between the absolute value of the fusion enthalpy ¦ Hf¦ of the styrene polymer in the nonwoven fabric and the absolute value of the low-temperature crystallization enthalpy ¦ Hrcc¦ is >=1cal/g. |
