A combined freezing and pressing process is used to obtain decorative relief patterns on concrete slabs, refrigerated dies being pressed into a freshly acreeded layer of concrete on a refrigerated table. The temp of the dies and the table may be such that a 25mm frozen skin is formed on the concrete, thus, permitting rapid striking and handling. The dies may be incorporated on slabs or rollers, and may be formed by the cutting out or building up of a plane slab surface. An exposed aggregate finish may be provided on the non-pressed concrete face, a layer of ice being formed on the table to hold the aggregate in position.
|
