PURPOSE:To reduce the amt. of an expensive Fe-Mn alloy used by carrying out converter blowing at hard blow all the time and adding ferrous manganese ore in the last stage of the blowing. CONSTITUTION:In converter blowing, blowing is carried out at hard blow of L/Lo above 0.35 all the time. Lo shows the height from the converter bottom to the surface of a static steel bath, and L shows the depth from the bath surface to the recess point. In the last stage of the blowing, ferrous manganese ore is added in an amt. of 5-15 kg per ton of molten steel. Thus, slopping is prevented and Mn can be added to the steel using such an inexpensive Mn source. |
