In addition to the mechanically locakable push-button the emergency switch has an auxiliary switch, the push-button having three functional positions. The first one serves for determining a minimum actuating force. The second one becomes effective immediately after contact breaking of the auxiliary switch, preventing automatic resetting into its make position. The third position prevents an automatic breaking of the auxiliary switch after contact making. The second functional position permits depression of the push-button into the third position. The resetting of the push-button from its second and third positions is carried out by rotation of the push-button.
