The magnet piston pump is for handling gases or fluids at high pressure and temperature, and incorporates at least two counteracting ball valves, the balls(23, 24) of which are of steel. For sealing the high pressure system pipe end piece (17) to the pump tube (5) against the ambiance, metal rings (18, 19) are used. Thrust rod (4) moved backwards and forwards by an electric motor, are attached to a cover body (2a) which contains permanent ring magnets (21a). The pump piston (15) is of non-magnetic material, and carries axially magnetised permanent magnets (21i). Between each two magnets in both cases (21a, 21i), a dividing ring or disc (25a, 25i) of soft magnetisable material is fitted.
