Ion exchanger fertiliser for potted flowers - applied for long periods through wick

Potted flowers are fed an ion exchange fertilizer over long periods of time by using a capillary, such as a wick, to take up the exchange ions to the roots, embedded in soil. A cup with the ion exchanger fertilizer granules in water carries on its top the flower pot. A wick passes through a hole in the flower pot bottom into the water in the cup. The soil in the flower pot does not impede the ion exchange and any supersaturation with fertilizer is successfully eliminated.
