The propelling pencil has a lead movement mechanism for the forward movement of the lead using a tensioning tongue movable in a longitudinal direction together with a clamping ring between two stops. The propelling pencil also includes a support pipe length adjustable inside the pencil point. The support pipe (16) can be fixed in it's front end position by an adjustable locking link (22). There is a penetration in the point of the pencil (8) transverse to the guide bore (13) of the support pipe (16) in which the locking link (22) has an adjustable bearing against the top face of the guide piston (14) connected to the support pipe (16).
