<p>The bogie frame, with three axles, is for rail bound working vehicles handling heavy loads, such as railway cranes or shunting wagons. It has two rigidly mounted axles and one with a sprung mounting, the latter being preferably between the two rigid ones. One or more axles may have drive, and one or more may be brakable. With no need to cater for high speeds, a simple system ensures that all the wheels have load-bearing contact with rails, while loading cannot cause dangerous tilting.</p> |
