State and/or alarm signals are arranged in data blocks, and data blocks acknowledging the above, are exchanged between transmitting and receiving stations. Data blocks containing state and/or alrm signals are transmitted at least twice in the receiving station which intermediately stores each incoming block and compares it with the preceding block. When the two blocks coincide, the data block is retransmitted back with the addition of an acknowledgement signal. This ends the block transmission, which is then evaluated in the receiving station.
