<p>An appliance for continuously breeding and catching flying insects, esp. flies which are needed in large quantities in all stages of development for biochemical research, consists of a transparent box (plexiglass) with a fly mesh top with four drawers at the bottom in which feed stuff for the flies (fish meal, sugar, agar-agar) is laid and where they deposit their eggs. One draw-out section of the box has a side lid and can be removed to catch flies by bait. After reinsertion, the lid is removed. The appts simplifies the capture and breeding of flies on a large scale.</p> |
