The sorting deflector for plastic is actuated by a metal detector, being particularly for ground plastics material, and having a pivoting guide body. The latter is particularly in tubular form, being suspended at its end nearest the detector in a housing accommodating the detector, which holds it against one of two openings of trouser-leg pattern in the housing. - The detector (5) is incorporated in a conveyor system controlled by emitters (41), and the clean side (9) of the deflector is connected to a processing machine.
