Vehicle gas turbine with intermittent burner - has compressed mixture passed to combustion chamber through flap valves

The engine has an intermittent burner (5) supplying a turbine (2). The burner has an inlet for air under pressure which draws fuel into a mixing chamber through a calibrated orifice. The mixture passes through flap valves into a combustion chamber in which it is ignited by a glow lamp. The explosion closes the flap valves until the resulting hot gases have passes into the turbine when the cycle repeats. The turbine is driven by the hot combustion gases. It is directly coupled to a compressor which provides the combustion air and yields an additional output which drives the vehicle.
