The self venting brake system has a closed loop supply between the master brake cylinder (10) and the wheel brakes. A return line(20) feeds fluid into the reservoir (12) above the master brake cylinder when the brake pressure is released. Two non return valves control the flow of fluid to and from the master brake cylinder and reservoir so that any air bubbles are pumped back into the reservoir with successive braking.
