PURPOSE:To ignite an engine excellently and positively, by effectively utilizing the radical of fuel activated by means of a glow plug for ignition, in an igniter jointly using a spark plug and the glow plug. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary engine, a plug hole 4 opening to a trochoidal inner circumferential surface 2 through a shooting hole 3 is formed to the rotor housing 1 while screw holes 5, 6 for mounting two plugs are installed. A spark plug 7, which nose portion has a central electrode 9, is mounted to the screw hole 5 and a glow plug 8, which nose portion has a seize type exothermic portion 10, to the screw hole 6 respectively. Consequently, the glow plug 8 activates fuel gas around the exothermic portion 10 by the generation of heat, and electricity is discharged between the central electrode 9 of the spark plug 7 and said exothermic portion 10, thus ensuring stable ignition. |
