The method serves for the production of a tubular body from wear-resistant metal for lining a bore in a workpiece, preferably a screw-machine housing. In this method, the metal (6) is applied by flame spraying to a cylindrical core (1), then sintered or melted, after which the core (1) is removed from the body thus formed. Before flame spraying, the core (1) is wetted with a liquid binder. A layer of sand is then applied to the wetted surface of the core (1) and the coating (4) thus formed is dried. The wear-resistant metal (6), which is in powder form, is then sprayed onto the coating (4) and sintered or melted there. After the metal (6) has solidified, the core (1) is moved out of the body in the axial direction, the core not being destroyed during this process. <IMAGE>
