402,643. Batteries. BROWN, T. J., 189, Uxbridge Road, West Ealing, London. March 23, 1933, Nos. 8817 and 12669. [Class 53.] A number of batteries in a closed container are joined together by connectors 3 which are mounted on a plate 18 which is separate from the container as shown in Fig. 2. The connectors may be secured to the plate by means of eyelets 4 which may receive tapping plugs. Connection to the end terminals of the battery is made by eyelets carrying single spring connectors 11 as shown in Fig. 5. Figs. 6 and 7 show a modification in which the zinc containers of the cells are provided with connectors 14 having bent portions 15 at their ends which grip the positive contacts 16 when the connectors 14 are bent down by members 22 carried by the plate 18. The members 22 which are required for tapping are bored and lined with metal tubes or eyelets. The casing which encloses the batteries is made in two parts 1, 2 which may be connected together by press fasteners. According to the Provisional Specifications the connectors 3 and members 22 may be carried by the container. |
