The pancake or cylinder transformer winding is strengthened against bending during short-circuits. Spacers are provided between adjacent winding discs or turns, which are stacked vertically. Insulating stiffening elements (5) are uniformly spaced along the windings axial direction, placed between two adjacent winding discs or layers. Their peripheral length is at least twice the distance between two adjacent stacks of spacers (4). The stiffening elements have a length corresponding to at least one turn of a cylinder winding. |
