<p>CONTROL SYSTEM FOR OILWELL PUMPING INSTALLATION. A monitoring and control system for use on a pumped oilwell and particularly advantageous for wells which frequently achieve pump-off, utilizes a flow volume measuring means, such as a turbine flowmeter, in the production line and an electronic monitoring system to receive the flaw signal from the measuring means over a unit time, compare it to a reference flow volume signal, and shut down the well pump prime mover when the volume per unit of time passing through the production line is less than the preset reference volume. The invention also features a recycle function to restart the pumping apparatus after it has been shut down a predetermined period of time, a recycle counter to accumulate the number of consecutive unsuccessful recycles of the pumping apparatus, and a complete well shutdown feature actuated when the number of consecutive unsuccessful recycles reaches a preset number. 1a</p> |
