The twist of successive weft threads is reversed alternately in a new cloth for use as a packing material, working aprons, etc. This overcomes the tendency of cloths of this type to curl back on themselves and cause difficulties, whilst in addition weft spun from shorter fibres with a higher degree of twist can be used, which cheapens the cost.
