Motor to provide rotary motion - uses differential oil pressures operating axial plungers on helical surfaces to produce tangential couple

The motor is used to provide rotary motion and comprises a rotor having a sealed chamber, having a disc. The chamber is filled with oil, pressurised through the disc shaft by a nitrogen bag. This unit is enclosed inside another sealed chamber similarly pressurised through one side. The two larger chamber sides supporting the rotor and disc shafts have helical surfaces, plungers with rubber suction caps bearing on these. Differential pressure is maintained between the two systems and the thrust on the plungers produces a tangential rotary couple.
