PURPOSE:To display a sufficiently-natural pattern on a scanning type display unit by converting a picture-element signal into a parallelogram picture element inclined, on a pattern display system which displays a pattern of a character, etc. CONSTITUTION:A character signal from character signal generator 11 is set into character register 12 and then converted by character pattern generator 13 into a picture-element signal in the state that the pattern of each character graphic symbol is decomposed into the 7-by-8-number picture elements for one character. Before being supplied to display unit 15, the picture-element signal is led to picture-element-signal converter circuit 18 by way of shift register 14, slanting-pattern register 22 stored by the address signal decoded by decoder 21, and direction register 24 to which the picture element is set with its right raised by the address signal decoded by decoder 23. |
