The system is designed to heat a circuit element (C) in order to maintain a fluid circulating in the circuit at a set temperature. The circuit element (C) is raised to the set temperature by means of a heating unit. The heating unit (3) is made from a good thermal conducting material and is fixed to the circuit element. The unit (3) has a cavity in it whose wall is in contact with at least a part of the external wall of the circuit element. The unit also includes an electrical heating circuit. The heating unit (3) is in a thermally insulating enclosure. The unit has several locations (9) for an electrical resistance. Each location communicates with a chamber (5) which opens out onto one of the units walls at which are located current connections for the resistors.
