<p>The obturator is used in firearms using non metal cased cartridges. It consists of a metal piece (2), placed in front of the breech. In the front of this moving piece is a conical opening and in the rear of the cylindrical opening of diameter equal to or greater than the barrel calibre. Inside the moving piece is an expansive type seal. The breech has a support with grooves for the moving piece, the firing pins passing through the moving piece.</p> |
