Slave clock combined synchronisation and illumination supply - has battery charged from incoming control pulses using bridge rectifier

The supply circuit is for pulse driven slave clocks where the display is based on photodiodes, liquid crystals etc. The supply for the photodiodes is derived from a battery itself constantly recharged by the incoming minute and/or second control pulses being generated by the master clock. The incoming pulse stream feeds the slave counter directly (6), the charging power being obtained by shunting the incoming twin line (2) with a bridge rectifier (8) via two series resistors (7). The battery (9) is connected directly across the bridge rectifier output terminals.
