<p>Appts. is automatically adjustable in response to variations in the characteristics of the charge being heated while moving relative to the inductors. Each inductance is mounted in a line with a self inductance variable between an upper and lower limit, the inductance being controlled by a control current supplied from a control device sensitive to signals produced by at least one detector responsive to the charge characteristics. Appts. is for use in the heat treatment of conductors having characteristics such as conductivity, speed of movement relative to the inductors, charge temperature, all of which are variable. The appts. enables the heating to be controlled to enable the heat-treatment to be optimised.</p> |
