<p>A sealing filler for fixing small articles, esp. for application in the building industry, comprises two glass tubes joined together at their openings by a cylindrical coupler which isolates their respective contents. The first tube contains a fluid, 'pre-accelerated' polymer resin and the second a mixt. of a filler and a hardening catalyst for the resin. The compsn. are used to immobilise e.g. anchoring bolts used to strengthen the roofs of mines, tunnels, etc. Use of a 'pre-accelerated' resin improves storae properties at 30-40 degrees C; use of fluid resin in place of mastic improves chemical stability and there is no need for prior mixing (energy saving); there is little shrinkage of the filler material in use. After 17-18 1/2 hr. of resin following application, a tensile strength of 4700-5710 kg. is obtd.</p> |
