<p>Wrapper for contg. a group of individually boxed items comprises a plastic bag having a cross-section which corresponds to the elevational dimensions of the boxed items and a pleated base which opens to form a plain end for the composite package. The bag is large enough to provide carrying handles above the level of a seam welded to seal the boxed items within the wrapper. Used esp. for holding groups of containers of particulate or fluid materials, e.g. bottles in box-shaped cardboard holders. The wrapper provides greater protection from external liqs. etc. than open-ended wrappers made from tubular shrink-wrap film, will contain spillage if one of the internal items is broken. Wrappers of non-shrink film can accept printing or labelling, es. hot, without risk of distortion.</p> |
