摘要 <p>The skip or other load handling mechanism is mounted at the end of the jib of a suitable machine such as an excavating machine. Suspended from an overhead connection (1) on the end of the jib is a structure with horizontal beams (2) carrying vertical arms. These beams can be moved apart by central actuator cylinders to suit the length of the load. Mounted at the bottom of each arm is a structure with a swinging arm (4) ech side so that the load can be gripped between two arms at each end. Each arm (4) is tilted by a cylinder so as to engage and disengage the load, and the structure each end can be tilted by further cylinders so as to tilt the load.</p>
