There are a number of weir units in the sewerage layout, which can be controlled either way as required between their discharge setting and their completely damming setting, and which have a tightly sealed closing effect at the sides. They are pref. tube weirs, and laterally tightly screwed up to max. damming level. They may be hydraulically activated, inflatable, and made of elastic-rubber-type material. They can be screwed, or otherwise firmly connected, in a base trough concreted into the sewer with anchoring ribs, while their number depends on the desired storage capacity. This enables sudden large volumes of water to be partially or wholly trapped and retained, as required.
|
