PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of pinholes in an organic photoconductive film and unevenness of its thickness, and deterioration of adhesion to an aluminum drum by treating the surface of the drum with a freon type solvent, subjecting it to a drying treatment with the vapor of said freon type solvent, and irradiating said surface with ultraviolet rays under an atmosphere of ozone. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the drum is treated with the freon type solvent, dried with the vapor of said solvent, and then irradiated with ultraviolet rays in an ozone atmosphere, thus permitting the surface to be cleaned of fine contaminants and freed of adsorption of the freon. The cleaned surface of the drum is coated with the organic photoconductive film, thus permitting pinholes to be prevented and said film uniform in thickness to be formed in good adhesion to the surface of the aluminum drum. |
