Automatic, rapid and exact centring of pressure band in press - for continuous mfr. of chipboards and laminates, having control gear, margin scanners, divergence control, and integrator

Continuously operating press for mfr. of wood-based prods. e.g. chipboards, plywood, has endless pressure belts with each of which a diverting-roller frame is associated which can be swivelled about an axis that is orthogonal to the roller axis, by means of a control gear. There is a belt centring control installation with belt edge sensors at either side of the belts, and an associated differential-control station that regulates the servo-gear. The belt edge sensors have electronic measuring-value means which generate integratable output signals. The differential-control station comprises an integrator for the output signals of the measuring-value means and a 3-point control downstream of it. The latter operates the servo-gear via a reversing switch. Centring of the pressure belts occurs automatically immediately and with high accuracy.
