Detector for brief interferences in signal transmission - moves time interval over error pattern until it falls onto new error pattern using comparator and counter

Rapid changes of the signal to noise ratio during digital signal transmission are detected. A variable measurement time interval contains a fixed number n of bit errors and n spacings between errors and is used for the current bit error rate measurement. The initially constant measurement interval is moved bit-by-bit over the error pattern after each bit error until its beginning or end falls on the next bit error. The interval is in the first case increased by one bit for each correctly transmitted bit, while in the second case the new bit error is included in the interval, and the error at the interval beginning and the spacing preceding it are subtracted from it.
