<p>The skin is, in addition to the clips and hooks at each end, provided with a longitudinal seam along its length, in which a tear cord has been sewn in. By tearing on the cord, the seam is opened and the sausage contents can be readily separated from the skin. Instead of tearing the threads of the seam, a double chain stitch can be used for the longitudinal seam so that the pulling of one of the threads releases the loops of the seam without having to destroy any threads. This makes it easier to peel the skin off a sausage.</p> |
