Radio communications system with priority and conference facilities - uses cyclic subscriber controlled channel testing to eliminate central control unit

The radio communications system enables the connection of one transmission channel between several subscribers without the use of a central control unit. Each subscriber unit cyclically checks the status of all the channels and whether a call to the subscriber exists. When a call appears the subscriber status is transmitted. If a channel is engaged its status is stored and only a newly engaged channel can check the subscriber status. Priority and conference calls are provided for the speech and data transmission is achieved using a time multiplexer.
