The breathing mask with a heating system so that a patient can breathe warm air, also includes a humidity control system. Through the middle of the cylindrical extension (23) attached to the face piece (20) is a tubular heating element (22) and around this is a porous filter (28) acting as a liquid reservoir. This can also be used as a source of treatment fluid. Between this and the face piece is mounted a hygrometer (68) with a dial with a measuring scale (69) over which travels a pointer (70) so that it can be read from outside the mask. The hygrometer is mounted in an intermediate sleeve (21). A check valve (73) is mounted at the entrance to the face piece. |
