The cantilevered building element is prestressed by an extruded concrete process, with one or more bottom and top channels drawn through it. A prestressing wire is drawn through each channel and fixed in the stressed state by an anchoring member. The top channel (a4, a41) is at least partially open so that prestressing wires is the area concerned can be cut away. An opening adjacent to the top edge of the element may provide access to the top channel from outside. This makes it easy to remove parts of the top stressing wires as desirable after the initial phase and to subsequently use the saved material for bottom wires.
