Test cuvette for atomic absorption spectrometers - has tilting cradle for positioning relative to burner and optical axis

The measuring cell support assembly compriss a frame (24) which is hinged to the ends of plates (16, 18) mounted on the burner of the atomic absorption spectrometer (10). The frame has end plates (26, 28), the uper ends of which have U-shaped recesses acting as cradle rests (30, 32). A cylindrical cuvette (34) with enlarged end pieces (38, 40) is placed in the slots in the hinged support cradle. The cuvette can be placed in two positions. In one it is coaxial to the optical axis of the spectrometer and over the burner head; in the second it can be swung away from the burner and out of the spectrometer beam (12). A lug (44) on one of the end plates of the cradle enables the support to be tilted over against a stop (42).
