PURPOSE:To form a synthetic resin cover layer having a uniform lap(edge cover) and improved appearance, by heat shrinking a relatively easily heatable part of an article of non-circular cross-section covered with a heat-shrinkable synthetic tube with a press member. CONSTITUTION:The article 1 of non-circular cross-section is covered with the heat- shrinkable synthetic resin tube 2 a little longer than the article so that the edge 5 of the tube 2 may extend from the end 3 of the article 1 slightly. The exterior of the tube 2 to cover the flat outer wall is held by the press surface 7 of the press member 6, and the tube 2 is passed through the heat shrink unit having the belt conveyor 8, hot air tunnel 9, cooling zone 10, and shrunk by heat. |
