<p>Vegetable cutting appliance comprising, in a frame, a cutter grating (6), a guideway (7) for the vegetable to be cut, a pusher (19) pressing the vegetable to be cut through the cutter grating. A lid (9) closes the frame (2,3,4,5) at the location of the guideway (7). Locking devices (12,17;39) prevent engagement of the motor in any unclosed position of the lid (9), or opening of the lid (9) during the operating cycle of the motor, or rotation of the motor during opening of the lid (9).
