PROCESS FOR TAKING A HYDROGENATION REACTOR OUT OF OPERATION

Process for taking out of operation a reactor filled with a catalyst for catalytic hydrogenation by a) reducing (and keeping) the temperature to below 300.degree.Cb) discontinuing the feed supply and replacing the hydrogen by an inert gas c) purging the reactor with the inert gas optionally together with a hydrocarbon oil d) introducing oxygen in the purge gas and increasing the amount thereof to a partial pressure of at least 0.2 kg/cm2 and e) opening the reactor.
