PURPOSE:To present water-based hardening agent capable of high speed hardening, not causing quenching crack or strain, obtained by reacting basic substance and then Mg-containing compound to a copolymer of monomer of olefin group and maleic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer is prepared from 1 or more kinds of monomers such as alpha-olefin having 2 to 6 carbons such as ethylene and propylene; alkyl vinyl ether having 1 to 4 carbons in the alkyl group such as methyl vinyl ether and propyl vinyl ether; vinyl acetate; and ethylene, and 1 or more kinds of maleic acid derivatives such as maleic acid and maleic anhydride. This copolymer possesses an organic thio group having 4 to 18 carbons at its terminal end, and the intrinsic viscosities at 30 deg.C of dimethylformawide solution range between 0.05 and 0.5. This is caused to react with a base such as NaOH and KOH to be made water soluble. Then, adding water soluble Mg compound such as MgCl2, a copolymer Mg salt is synthesized. This is dissolved in water to obtain a hardening agent. |
